Vision and Goals

To honor Hadrienne's memory by establishing endowed fund (making it permanent) that allows Hadrienne’s friends and family to support causes she cared about:

start

by improving access and awareness of rowing
to people in need
start

by supporting research and development for endangered and protected wildlife and their habitats.

Improving access and
awareness of rowing
Hadrienne loved rowing. She loved helping people in need. The Hadrienne K. Mendonsa Memorial Fund will
award grants that help people access and learn about rowing and work to ensure that Hadrienne’s passion for rowing’s positive influence in young lives is something available for everyone. Hadrienne rowed for Chattanooga Junior Rowing, UT– Chattanooga.

"...I definitely like the team, and like the people in it, and it's helped build my confidence..."
- Hadrienne Mendonsa, Chattanooga Junior Rowing, ‘02

Hadrienne was also an active member of Chattanooga
Junior Rowing Alumni and in 2005 she helped design and present the first annual CJR Alumni Award.

"...This year we've started a tradition and created an award to recognize a special hard working person on the current CJR team -- someone who had outstanding qualities of sportsmanship, dedication, positive attitude, and all the good stuff that makes a team…...good.”
- Hadrienne Mendonsa, CJR Alumni Banquet 2005

Improving our environment and protecting wildlife
Hadrienne holds a baby sea turtle as a volunteer with the Caretta Sea Turtle Project. Next to her is a work of art she did of turtles.
“...As tough as the week is I know that’s what I want to do the rest of my life.…I love working to keep their existence. That is what I want to do..”
